Do I have to “Season” my BBQ Grille’s grates?

I just purchased a top of the line Weber BBQ Grille. Do I have to season the cast Iron grates?
If so, How do I do this?

You don’t “have to”, but it’s a good idea. Although, with a few “cook-outs” it will season itself. If you want to season it, simply get a hot coal bed going, take your “clean grate” and oil it then place it over the coals for a time. Pull it off a couple of times and re-oil it (you may have to let it cool a little) and do it a few times . It will be seasoned.
If you don’t do this you will have issues with food sticking for a short time.
